Microsoft 'expanding' sports broadcasts on Xbox One

I anticipate a load of "I don't need that on my game system" comments. The short answer to that is, then don't use that feature. Sony has already announced they are making partnerships for tv/ movie channels to come to the PS4, so this concept will be on both systems.
