I think they'll be able to achieve this. The demand is there. And it seems Sony is prepared to have enough supply to keep up with demand.
I do have to laugh at the idea that the One will sell 3M in 2013, like they expect the PS4 to do. Even if the demand was there, with the supply issues that MS are facing I doubt they'll do more than 2M, if even that. I also expect a sales gap this year of ~1M (so a minimum of 800K) by the end of this year.
