Strawberry Posion Dart Frogs only have 1 tadpole per pregnancy.

They then carry this on their back, bringing it to small pools inside the base of large flowrs which contain insect larva.  She does this until it becomes a froglet.

 

I know about the ones that only laid them in Bromeliads, and some other that laid them on a leaf, and had a dozen or so. But one, just sound almost lazy for a frog.

But I guess nobody is going to try to eat them, and it works for them.

Not really.  She takes cares of her young for weeks.  

While the frogs/toads that lay hundreds/thousands of eggs?  Leaves them where she dumped them and never turns back.  (Exceptions being like male African Bullfrogs)
