Every indication we have shows that the PS4's pre-orders are greatly outnumbering the One's, because of both demand and supply. The real reason they didn't throw out a number is because it would make them look bad in comparison to Sony's 1M+. I'd be surprised if they have even reached 500K at this point. For you and MB1025 to even suggest that Sony is lying about that number shows you guys are really reaching for straws.

They officially said over 1 million preorders at Gamescom. It was Yoshida, a few weeks later, in an interview that said millions. So, either they have hit 2M preorders since Gamescom, or Yoshida mispoke and they are probably closer to 1.5M. Either way, it will be well above MS's preorders at this point. And Sony is going to have enough supply to meet those preorders, and then some. In the end, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a ~1M gap this year alone between the PS4 and One.
