Iran has 3x the population and the terrian would be 10x as difficult. We would not be able to roll our tanks across the desert like we did in Iraq, also seeing how hard it has been to track down osama imagine trying to root out several hundred thousand trained troops out of the mountianous terrian. Yesterday we were doing some live fire while I was doing some training, and we also did some Urban warfare training, I could see how hazardous it would be to do urban let alone mountain where the enemy is concealed and is waiting for you to make your move. They would also be able to plant mines, and IEDs just about anywhere and they would be nearly impossible to detect.
