But was that not also when Sega were still localizing titles like Yakuza and Valkyria Chronicles? You have to judge these companies by what they do in the present.
edit: but the actual problem with MS would be their absolute non-presence in Atluses home market and subsequent death of their franchises, as well as their historically poor treatment of bought-out studios, especially those with niche games. Forget localization issues, Atlus would cease to exist.
