If resolution was such a deciding factor for people, those people should just go and buy a high end pc.
People can complain about the price all they want but you essentially get what you pay for, if you want to choose how a game runs, at what resolution it runs, and at what framerate then it is the only option to consider.

1440p120f is something even the generation after the one coming will probably fail to achieve, yet can be achieved right now on a pc.

Again, I ask, what 1440p monitor does 120fps?

Qnix, Xstar, Catleap and Overlord Tempest, or more specifically:

QNIX QX2710 Evolution 2  - 27″ 2560×1440 ~90Hz – 130Hz
X-Star DP2710 - 27″ 2560×1440 ~90Hz – 130Hz
Overlord Tempest X270OC - 27″ 2560×1440 ~90Hz – 130Hz
Overlord PCB Upgrade - 27″ 2560×1440 ~90Hz – 130Hz
Catleap 2B - 27″ 2560×1440 ~120Hz

These ranges are not absolute, either, my tempest x27 can hit 144Hz borderline, 145 and "no signal", but still a great deal higher than 60hz.
