I was having a nice discussion with @walsufnir about resolutiuons and AA in another thread but that got locked by mods.
In his opinion of @walsufnir he prefers 720p with AA over 1080p without AA... in my opinion 1080p without AA will have a better IQ quality than 720p with at least 4xAA... so you need over 4xAA on 720p to start to match the IQ quality of 1080p without AA.
High resolution does requer less AA than lower resolutions.
Note. I mean AA in general that mean you using the same AA filter for comparison... different filter will give you different results.
So I found a brazilian video comparing 1080p vs 900p with/without 4xAA.
The conclusion? 1080p will always looks better than 720p... prefer 1080p over AA unless you have performance left to hold fps even with AA.
What do you think guys?
I will try found more example and make some test in my notebook with old games 
(I don't have a good video card).
