I ran into a problem with my Google spreadsheet and you are probably the best guy to ask. I managed to lose one of my custom colors, the red one. Probably happened because I deleted jadakiss1217 from the Standings as that was the only place where the color was used without conditional formating. I haven't figured out a way to get the color back in my selection of custom colors. In the custom color creation tool, I remember seeing that each color is assigned a unique string of letters and numbers, but I don't know how to extract that information from the existing red cells in my spreadsheet. If I knew the code, I could enter it and get exactly the same shade of red I am already using.

I have come up with a band-aid to use my red custom color on the Predictions sheet without hassle, but I'd still like to be able to choose any part on the Standings and Playoffs sheets and assign the red color without having to jump through hoops.

I hadn't spent much time in the customer color area before.

But it looks like its just using HEX color codes for each color and once you add one it automatically keeps it in your recent collection just below the "Custom.." option.

I've played with it a bit today and used Google search, but I'm actually uncertain how you lost the color from the recent collection boxes. I couldn't even find a way to manually delete colors you've added. It just keeps adding another 10 rows of empty boxes.

The only thing that seemed different was that the colors are saved locally for that spreadsheet. So maybe removing last area on that one or clearing your cache on the browser or using different browser...etc lost it.

Maybe if you click on any cell you can just set to that color and manually type in the HEX code (from 2012 spreadsheet) it will resave it to your custom options?

I was able to define a custom color that way and it stuck. (The HEX color is a six-character code that must start with a "#" symbol.)

Hope that helps ya.
