They are years away from having nukes, at least half a decade if not more, and they have shown no signs of starting up thier program again. That is the difference, they are not a threat and we should not be worried about them
So? We caused their problems, so sorry, but that's not our problem anymore they are not going to turn into some functioning country any time soon if ever and we don't have the luxury pf waiting for that day.
They don't respect us now, and they will respect us more if they see that we are not the country that interferes where we shouldn't, invading Iran, and maintaining a permanent prescense in iraq will not win us any respect.
It is insanity to try the same thing over and over and expect a different result, sorry, but this Iraq conflict is a failure, the smart thing to do is to know when you've failed and to cut your losses
