why do threads get locked?

And on the negative Brawl review getting locked. I am pretty sure it's because the review was just a user on GameFAQs, and not a professional review like you'd be expecting after seeing the title and OP.

it doesn't matter where the reviews came from. it's still a legitimate topic that could use some discussion.

cause, there will be a day when a negative review is posted by someone and the same thread will come out again. if people are posting and having a heated discussion, there is no reason to lock a thread.

with threads locked at times for no obvious reason, it's hard to tell what's off limits and what's not.

I have no idea who or why the thread was locked.  And sure, it's a legitimate topic.  But misleading.  I would've rather the title be "GameFAQS user writes a bad review on SSBB".   8)
