Why do people have backlogs? Honest question, pls read before posting!!

Same with me. I still have Xenoblade in shrink wrap, for example, but I'm damn glad I bought it when I did.

@OP: The biggest problem is the length of video games. Being a video game buff isn't like being a movie buff. You can't finish one game a day or breeze through all the GOTY contenders in a long weekend. Sometimes you need two months to finish one game. So that's how my backlog keeps building.

To be honest, I'm not sure how it's possible NOT to have a backlog. Even if it's not a physical backlog. Surely everyone here has a long list of games they need to play?
