Indeed: Where I think Forza has an edge: the cars. They don't have any aliasing issues and just have a little more "umpf" to them. They look like CG renders rather than in-game, which is striking and telling of just how good they look, since none of it is pre-rendered. On the other hand, DriveClub is doing more things technically, such as dynamic lights/shadows, more advanced Ambient Occlusion, crisper raytraced refelections, full day and night cycles, and dynamic weather transitions. It's as if DriveClub is more well rounded, while Turn 10 has mainly focused on the vehicles (time constraints lead me to think this regarding day and night cycles + weather missing from Forza 5). |
Maybe the Cloud was supposed to do the weather and environment effects on Forza, but after the DRM got axed, it got simplified.
