It proves that a new console with a game drought  simply doesn't sell. and does nothing for your "argument".

Wii U got Pikmin 3 in the summer yet its sales didnt climb. And its not just a "new console", its the worst selling console in a long time.

unless you live in a paralel world, pikmin did raise wii u sales. but nobody expected a big lasting effect.

If you can read the chart that I just posted and quote, no it didnt in NPD. Sales actually went down in July compared to June.
