They became hunting games after the big hit of Monster Hunter on PSP (was released on PS2 before and was online coop).. is more like a type of ActionRPG.. PSo could be called a MMOActionRPG... and the phantasy Star portable were Action rpg with a proer story... and its own gameplay system... games like lord of vermillion and god eater, try imitate (with iot's own changes) the formula of Monster Hunter and that's why are called hunting games...
