I think that we should read what his final comments were:
"It's late, and it's clear I'm doing more harm then good at this point. So best to let this rest from my seat and get back to you guys with the most credible source."
He obviously is trying to point out that he can't change peoples mind either, so he will try to get someone who is actually working on the hardware to do it.
