Well Mr. Smart, we can argue about the platform being the same or not... It is not because you can play Vita games than you call this a "Vita platform".
Maybe it sounds cooler and reconfort you about your mighty Sony and their greatness :) ? Playstation is the brand, Vita is just a device and yes the name is mainly related to a failure, so I think it would have been a good opportunity to go for another name, even PS.TV would do.

I think they actually want to fix the Vita name. Playstation TV wouldn't help the Vita as much. Vita TV will.

Now that make sense... I guess they can try to do that.
