Twilight Princess might be a valid argument, but it still got delayed by god knows how much.

Skyward Swords was actually going to release in Spring 2011 and was unveiled 2010. That is about 3/4 of a year.

Then there is also the possibility of Zelda U being announced sometime this year.

Although after reading some interviews from Aounoma today, I'm actually thinking sometime in 2015. The biggest reasons for me are that they haven't decided on the story yet and that Aunoma will hopefully get a somewhat long vacation. It was quite sad reading how we misses his family and they are not happy about working late. It doesn't help that he gets alot of shit on the internet too.

That's the beauty of this game. Aonuma can be working on WWHD and ALBW, but he doesn't need to be the main director for Zelda U. If my Zelda knowledge is right, the director of Skyward Sword was Fujibayashi, not Aonuma.

This means that the next Zelda for Wii U could be fully directed by other, like Koizumi (Mario 3D/Majora's Mask) whom is not the director of SM3DW.

There was a rumor about the art director of some games like TP getting the role of director for the next Zelda.

That is giving me hope. Of course Miyamoto and Aonuma will be producers, but the game can be still in production at the same time directed by others. Iwata and Miyamoto said they can show it, while Aonuma said not yet. That's 2 vs 1.
