JimmyDanger said: And the article said it was a 3 billion, multi - year deal, implying that that's not the final figure - just the initial payment.ie for the first part/years of the multi year deal. I strongly doubt anyone is paying for 80 MILLION chips - in advance - with limited knowledge of fabrication costs in 3,6,9 years time ( where they'd be most likely to hit that 80 million figure) - but I don't doubt that the 3 billion includes at least some of the first year or two's worth of chip production. |
No. When a company says 3 billion in a multy year deal, it means 3 billion divided by the amount of years in the contract. thats how every company says it, but if you really need it

"Former AMD executive Bob Feldstein now works at Nvidia. Feldstein played a role in the deal to deliver a custom AMD Jaguar processor to Microsoft though, and he posted several details about his work on the project to LinkedIn following his departure from AMD. In doing so, he revealed that the project is worth more than $3 billion to AMD over the lifetime of the contract."
