I kind of don't. Yakuza 3 came out earlier in the PS3's life and actually did okay in the west. The hope may be to do the same thing with Ishin as an early PS4 release. Plus since it isn't a numbered entry, it is more inviting to newcomers than jumping into Yakuza 4, 5, 6... without having played the other games. But yeah, I really hope that the PR person didn't know what he was talking about and Yakuza 5 is still on the table. Or that Sony's new in house localization team will at least consider taking on Yakuza 5 themselves. Because if we don't get 5, the hope of any future mainline games coming over is pretty grim. |
Thats what i'm worried about. And I completely agree and understand what you mean when Ishin can be more inviting to new comers.
I just know that some Japanese devs find it hard to bring games that are very cultural oriented to the west which wasn't that one of the reason why Kenzan never it to the west? ...yet Dead Souls did (since americans love zombies?). Which was why I thought this was odd.
But I hope Ishin suceeds so we can get the rest of the series over to the west. (and maybe Capcom can make a new Onimusha game as the cultural difference was their reason why they stop making it)
