When consumers are going out to buy a PS4, they only have one model to choose from. When they go out to buy the 3DS they have a variety of models. Just because the 2DS is much cheaper doesn't mean everyone will instantly flock to buying it. It's not very portable because you can't close it like the 3DS which is one of the main reasons why people will still choose the 3DS over the 2DS.
