That would surprise me. It is the cheapest and the newest. I think the original 3DS will have the lowest sales of the 3.

Its not being bundled with pokemon is it? I just think If its not being bought for a  child most would be weary over picking a 2DS over a 3DS for the lack of 3D. Just anecdotely, I would spend the extra 30$ if I was getting someone a present, they may care for 3DS plus it looks better. For core gamers, I don't see who would buy a 2DS, I don't think there are going to be ques of peeps waiting for it on day one. But I gues Nintendo will be pushing the 2DS with marketing and shelf space logically it should easily sell more then the original 3DS.

Its not targeted for core gamers and beside, you might be generous to spend an extra $40 but not everyone is like that unfortunately

Time will tell. But cheaper doesn't always garuntee more success the wii mini was a flop here in the UK
