I think the whole thing is looking at the problem wrong.
It shouldn't be "Is what fast food workers are paid a living wage"
so much as "Why are people who are working fast food jobs, doing so to make a living wage.".
Minimum wage jobs shouldn't be primary sources of income. That so many people are working there as their primary source of income is the problem in the first place. Ideally jobs like this should be for teenagers and secondary jobs for a stay at home parent. That and maybe a few looking to transition into management on a "Management Track" Job.
I feel like in focusing on making sure shit jobs pay just enough to get buy, we let middleclass jobs slip away from the country.
I think that's why countries like Denmark and Germany find a way to keep their good jobs.
