I can't find your specified motherboard, and therefore not sure which i5 you are looking at. However, you will be just fine with your current planned mobo, so not worth it.
If you have bluetooth then you can hook up a PS3 controller without a wire. X360 wireless PC controllers are popular too. And then there is also Logitech wired controllers. With whatever controller you pick, you should also keep a mice and keyboard near you, perhaps n the coffee table, for alternating use.
