They have a high Metascore. Higher than they deserve? That depends on who you ask. I wouldn't drop either of them by more than 5 points, whereas I wouldn't argue with someone if they called The Last of Us a 7/10. Pokémon is a really curious entry on this list, since its main games average in the 80-90 range on Metacritic, and it rarely if ever wins any kind of awards. It also has a lot of depth, and is (as far as I know) the only RPG with a thriving competitive scene rivaling those of popular fighting games. |
