To me, #4 makes it seem like there is little to no consequence for getting alerted. As long you can pull off the slowmo execution most of the time, there is no fear in trying more risky (and more stupid) maneuvers. Frankly, when I didn't feel like I had superpowers and I was about as helpless as everyone else, I had to plan my movements much more wisely. It also had a comedic effect when I was in alert mode and I was scrambling to get to safety by rolling head first into everyone I came across.

I don't mind #5 as long as story is a huge and integral part of the game, something every Metal Gear game is known for. #1 killed my hype a little bit.
