Neither of these entries are correct. We all know that the most overrated games of all time are Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy VI and Ico.
Ocarina is not bad, but looking at it objectively, it has tons of flaws. It has aged worse than FFVII (whose only aspect that aged was the graphics, while Ocarina suffered in gameplay). Even for the time, I don't know how it was considered so "perfect".
Final Fantasy VI is also a good game. But the game suffers from two major problems: way too many characters, and a TERRIBLE second half. World of Ruin is just a collection of sidequests. I kept going to dungeons, finding my characters and defeating bosses, but I felt like I was on the same place, not doing any progress. And I CAN'T STAND all the praise the cast has for being "all important, with no defined protagonist". That's NOT TRUE. Half of the cast is COMPLETELY WORTHLESS, if you remove them, the plot remains exactly the same! And then the final dungeon forces me to go through it with all the characters? Great.
Ico is just bad really. People keep saying it's a masterpiece. Newsflash, it's barely a game. The story is overly cryptic, 90% of the dialogue is in some fictional language that requires you to beat the game again. And you'll not understand the plot, be warned. The gameplay is just boring and there's no music.
