Perhaps, but even when taking WW sales into account, just look at the front page of VGC you see that it pretty much holds true even then, WW PS3 in the last two months outsold 360 by about 500K and was outsold by the Wii by about 1 million, at that rate it will need over two years to outsell the 360, and will not be able to overtake the Wii ever |
Sales rates can and do change. Even though at current rates, it would take 2 years for PS3 to outsell the 360, I think sometime mid-to late 2009 is going to be more likely the case worldwide. MS will cut their price, Sony will cut their price as well (they were able to profit last quarter). Unless MS really has something that will get a different group of people to like it as much as the American Halo group, I don't see them not being destined for third place.
Oh yeah, and that article you provided, COD4 has taken over Halo in terms of popularity.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
