The recently announced Xperia Z1 is pretty much the best smartphone in its catagory. The only downside one could have is the size of the device is a bit bigger than comparable 5" smartphones.
Besides that, I guess it's hard for anyone to deny the fact that Z1 surpasses the other ~ 5" smartphones unless dellusion / brand loyalty is in play.
OT: Regarding the interview itself, I think Kaz's answers were spot on. Sony needs to ensure more publicity and awareness for their products as nowadays, they beat other hardware manufacturers in most segments.
