Im a little surprised this even needs to be said, but before I say anything Im not saying every woman is offended. In fact I dont believe it is near as big of a number of women being offended as people make it out to be.
However, there is a reason that people (Men and women) get offended or disgusted by over sexulizing characters in both movies and games. But why do we get more offended with a woman taking her shirt off than a guy taking his off?
Not only is many scenes unrealistic but becuase women are often times treated as sex objects. Not just in movies and games, but in real life. Yeah, i know its hard to believe that exists but i can honestly say it does ;) Women are used on a daily basis for sex and then often times tossed aside. It is not uncommon for multiple guys to hit on a girl throughout the day because of her body, just for sex. Its not uncommon for women to get message after message from men on facebook hitting on them. It's not uncommon for guys to be assholes and not care for a woman's personality. And women see this far too often.
Unlike men, women are more associated with their body on a regular basis. And it is more realistic for a woman to be a sex object in real life than a guy.
This is not to say women are perfect because they aren't. Some women are just as guilty but it is hard to argue that they are anywhere near as bad as men are.
I apologize this isnt an extremely detailed thread but at the end of the day, women are more associated with beauty than men. Women are more often sex objects than men. It is more of realization to women that their bodies are more important than their minds to a lot of men. And yeah, it probably sucks for women. There is a reason many women dont trust guys.
