You do bring an interesting point here. Games with amazing stories, but sub par gameplay are the kind of games that you just play once and probably never going to play again.
For me it would be like 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors, I mean that game has one of the best stories of any game I've ever played, but the gameplay is just getting out of a room to escape...it's not bad but it isn't breathtaking either. The problem is that I already experienced the story, I already know the characters backstory and the ending. So there really isn't much sense in playing that game again.
