hmm ok, #1 is most disappointing...

10. Dead Space 3 - Huge fan of the series and this one simply was not even close to as good as the other entries.

09. NBA JAM (2010) release. Original is one of the best sports games ever and the AI in this version was HORRIBLE, and no tag mode! On Fire Edition that came out 1 year later and was 35$ less was MUCH better.

08. Resident Evil 6. I thought 5 was a step backward from 4 by quite a bit and this one was just bad. So much focus on making a thick plot they forgot to make the game fun or memorable. Super repetitive gameplay even from one campaign to another. It made 5 look great in comparison.

07. Metroid: Other M. Same reasons OP made. Nintendo needs to hurry up and release a true 2D sequel to Super Metroid (tied for second best game of all time).

06. Battlefield 3. I know a lot of people love this game but it is just my opinion. I have been a huge BF fan since the very beginning 10 or so years ago with 1942. Battlefield 2, 2142, and BC2 are far more fun than it. The bad: Huge balance issues, Extremely uninspired mediocre maps, exploits, Terrible singleplayer, ridiculous blue tint over whole screen, input lag for some players and not others, far less destruction than the previous game, medpacks for assault class, horrible server side management of latency caused by out of region players (which has never been an issue in any other BF game), tons of people intentionally joining game modes to try and ruin it for others in various ways which constantly makes the teams uneven. The good: graphics, capture the flag, some cool weapons, good animations, prob best machineguns ever in BF game, pretty cool motion blur effects in certain sequences. Overall a disappointment for a series I expect so much from.

05. Lair. I expected so much from the idea and the game turned out outrageously generic and bad.

04. Ninja Gaiden 3. The first 2 games in this entry are so great. 3 was HORRIBLE! Nonsense story. Main character talks nonstop the whole time. Single button mashing gameplay. No need to use or learn any combos for any particular situation and no difficulty. Complete cashgrab attempt pointed towards casual gamers that left fans of the series broken and in the ditch.

03. Duke Nukem Forever. Travesty in comparison to 3D which is one of the best multiplayer games ever. Should have been a 10$ release. Everyone already knows about it so no more reasons needed.

02. Aliens Colonial Marines. There were a lot of reasons this game was bad including bad story, nothing creative whatsoever, cannon fodder enemies, completely punchless weapons, horrible level design that even gets reused as if it were somewhat decent...and #1 most terrible thing about this game. Some of the worst enemy AI ever, easily the worst I can think of from this gen. Whoever green lighted the game to be shipped should not be allowed to work in gaming industry anymore.

and....number 01. Daikatana. The entire life cycle of this game was hilarious! From the lackluster development all the way to the hilarious marketing with the "make you their bitch" posters and whatnot. This game was such a hyped up failure on every level that it basically shut down all of Ion Storm and permanently tarnished John Romero's name, who prior to that game, was, and in many ways still is, a gaming industry legend.
