Well what do you think the most common reasons for people not liking to wear glasses are?  Serious question, comparing glasses and headsets might not even be remotely similar depending on the reasoning.  


I don't think galsses are that much of a barrier actually. 3D cinema was booming for a short while, it began dying because it was an eyestraining gimmick. most film don't utilise it properly and the end result is a slightly worse cinema experience... silimar to the motion control gimmick and poor exection . At home its failed because no one is buying a new $1500 for something they'll only use once in while (limited 3D content) when they already have a competent HD TV. 

Its the actually concept of 3D which people are over. One of the reason the 3DS did get off to a good start, despite it boasting of glassesless 3D


If the playstation VR is not too far above the $100 range, looks sexy and works as planned, I can see it selling to 20% of the playstations 4 userbase. It will be a huge hit amongst core gamers and young adults.
