GTA usually is worth the hype. I thought GTAIV was worth the hype, even though many don't agree.

First of all you have to ask yourself what GTA 5 offers we didn't have before, 3 different chracters don't make up for it? It's just a big mix of all sorta things. GTA 4 was praised as the next comming of Jesus but didn't deliver at all. I love how everyone always bashes the industry for rehashing elements. But when Rockstar does it it's totally okay. The best game Rockstar ever did was RDR, amazing game. But even this game is somehow based on GTA. GTA just can't impress me anymore. Maybe it's just me.^^

Like I said, I did think GTA IV delivered. I played it through in 60+ hours after all in 1 or 2 weeks, and then quite a few times thereafter just messing about.
One thing Rockstar ALWAYS does well is offering something we didn't have before. Seriously, read the preview. This game is a massive jump over GTAIV in size, variety, graphics and animations and new features.
Basically it all boils down to you not liking GTA? That's weird, because RDR was similar in style.

The difference is RDR was a change we didn't have before. And it's not hard to have more variety then GTA 4. GTA 4 was after all a downgrade from SA LOL. They basically just brought back every feature that made San Andreas popular and beloved with better graphics and bigger size. new animations and graphics are a given after 5 years btw. LOL

They are a given, yet you say Rockstar gets a free pass. For what, exactly? GTAV is clearly a huge jump, so what is your issue?

A free pass for the same concept over and over again. Never talked about the same graphics or animations. Just can't hear the hype anymore I guess.
