Thousands of dollars? I guess they are using pretty powerful projectors to get those kind of effects on walls and furniture. I would have thought you could get away with a low res $300 to $500 projector, no need for sharp detail in your peripheral vision.
That would still be too much anyway for a peripheral that would only get limited support. Never mind the headaches in setting it up correctly, they have yet to show a working coffee table setup, so far the projector is always carefully mounted on a rack behind the couch.
