Isnt that like suggesting that Sony needs to cut the price of the PS4 before launch because the Wii U has a huge price advantage over them?
I know most will comment back that the PS4 offers more, but when comparing the X1 to PS4 the X1 offers more in the box as well.
I am not sure how anyone can claim one needs a price cut but the other one doesn't.

Isn't the PS4 about, what, 6 times as powerful as the Wii U going by more conservative objective measures? At only 1.3 times the price? You wouldn't think buying a Wii for $200 today is an amazing deal, would you?

Microsoft's problem is it's both considerably more costly and considerably less powerful, although I'd certainly argue it's still far better bang for the buck hardware wise than the Wii U (Although I still prefer my Wii U for the fantastic software).

The people who would pay $500 for a console are NOT the same people who would enjoy Kinect, in fact the people that would are the kinds of people that would even be deterred by Kinect if anything.

Microsoft simply doesn't have a choice for the time being, they need to offer a Kinectless pack and undercut the PS4 by at least $50 if they want to be competitive given Playstation brands more global advantage, as well as the PS4's power advantage.
