It really does suck that the Final Fantasy franchise has become about console hardware more than the gameplay style. Square is too worried about blowing everyone away with graphical prowess to release FFXIII or XIV for the Wii. You know what I've been playing this week? Final Fantasy. The original game. Because it's so damn fun! I've got my crappy 8-bit sprites and square/triangle waves for music (Uematsu, you were a master at crafting musical complexity from such crude tools) and it's just great.
