Rutea's probably the best person to give a reply to that, but I'll back it up a bit with my own thoughts. It's a very cute game. The story isn't the usual world-saving stuff - it's very small-scale and self contained. The combat is turn-based and surprisingly decent. Exploring the world is done through choosing locations on a map, which you can then visit and collect materials to use for alchemy. The game runs on a set timer; so you can go to certain places at certain times to see special events. I was very surprised how much I like the Atelier games. They're a good change of pace from the usual JRPG's. |
that's a very good point, atelier games are usually a very personal quest and more focused on getting to know the characters other than a big save the world kind of plot.
they are very lighthearted but extremely entertaining
