No some jokes are just funnier than others.  Also MS's joke made no sense because 1. They keep changing their system to be more like Sony's since E3 and 2. Sony has had great indie support so they should be being more like Sony and 3. It was too direct and not clever at all.  This took some intelligence and was kind of an inside joke just like their Gamescom jab.
