A 2012 article back when devs were still using changing devkits and we were getting confusing back and forth reports on Wii U's hardware. Well done. Let Shinen drop some truth bombs on you. The Wii U GPU is several generations ahead of the current gen. It allows many things that were not possible on consoles before. If you develop for Wii U you have to take advantage of these possibilities, otherwise your performance is of course limited. Also your engine layout needs to be different. You need to take advantage of the large shared memory of the Wii U, the huge and very fast EDRAM section and the big CPU caches in the cores. Especially the workings of the CPU caches are very important to master. Otherwise you can lose a magnitude of power for cache relevant parts of your code. In the end the Wii U specs fit perfectly together and make a very efficient console when used right. Funny how you say, " People who have no clue about hardware should not post about it." A person with half a brain can compare the specs of Wii U and PS3 and see that Wii U is obviously more powerful. |
No they can't it's about architecture. A systems is ONLY as fast as it's slowest component. There is a reason the Metro devs said the wii-u CPU was too slow for their game.
The PS3 Cell is WAY more powerfull, wii-u has a memory advantage., Congrast at being maybe slightly more powerfull then a 7 year old console...I guess.
