Licenses aren't the be all and end all, yes they help, but in the peak of PES (3 and 4 for me) it didn't need the licenses, because the bliss of the gameplay spoke for itself. There was a reason for a couple of years, PES was a genuine sales contender against FIFA even without the licenses. But Konami squandered it big time in refusing to invest in the HD formats. I guess that is systemic of a bigger issue that Japanese developers have had in adapting to newer systems. |
Yeah, And it happened to nintendot too with the WiiU, they said they wanted to make more often Zeldas and metroid, but the late come to HD have hit them hard, they even shuffled all their divisions strecture, and there they are adaptating.. or trying...
The curious case is that smaller devs like NIS, Falcom, Compile hearthave taken better at HD consoles recently ad PS3 seems more like a just launched system than a dying one.. hoppefully later those efforts will switch to vita wich is the most similar console to ps3 in graphics and appeal...
@MUGEN: Don't forget! We need Soul Calibur Too! and Vita will be BEST FIGHTING HANDHELD EVER!
