In my opinion they shouldn't be trying to make a career out of Mcdonalds or Burger King. When I was growing up fast food jobs were stepping stones to responsibility and motivation for a better career.
I do, however, believe that minimum wage should be raised. Just not to $15 an hour for flipping burgers.
Restaurants will probably cut down their work force if they have to pay $15 minimum wage and/or we would definitely see the end of the $1 menu.
