Well, the thing is, I do not have the fastest internet speed, but I bet right now it's quicker to download a game, than get into my car, drive up to gamestop, park, buy the game, and drive back. Or at worse close to about the same for most game.
Plus with the new systesm, you only need to download a little before you can start playing. Then download the rest when you are asleep/at work, or possibly playing. As internet speed get upgraded, I can see how it would be useful to just drop the disk. But you would need to make sure the market understands, or you would have some mighty cranky people when friends bring over their disk based games.

thats why they had it the way they did. faster to install. also you can borrow or rent a disc install and buy digital or something of that nature

Oh, We was talking about a possible console in the future. A Mini-Slim Xbox One where they drop the Blu-ray and make a bigger hard drive and make it all digital. I said they would need to make retail cards/vouchers for their games to keep the retails happy (like GameStop.)
It's cool isn't it, that you can play a game as it is downloading or installing.

what about if they sould something like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+Micro+Sleek+Attach%26%23233%3B+16GB+USB+Flash+Drive+-+Blue/5577173.p?id=1218665493458&skuId=5577173&st=Select_PNY_Flash_Drives_109114&cp=1&lp=1
that would upload the first 10gb of a game to the system.
