You do realise you can run memory speeds faster than 1600mhz on the x79, right? Intel might state 1600mhz as the official memory support, but board manufacturers can add to that.
Besides, the x79's memory bus isn't being hammered by GPU writes and reads anyway, no Integrated Graphics.
