In what way did Sony ever think they could compete with Nintendo in the handheld market?

The competition with Sony bred the 3DS. The Vita needs to die in a fire, so that we can get better Nintendo handhelds in the future. Systems that are made to appeal to the market instead of one-upping Sony in one way or another.

As harsh as it sounds this is 100% true, without the Vita Nintendo wouldn't have to play it safe all the time and it would allow them to create more unique titles.

Umm that makes no sense.............Nothing is stopping them now, they already dominate. They dont create more unique titles because thats who nintendo are.
