Unless a japanese company owned the XBOX brand, it has no chance there.  Whole different view on american products there than a lot of the rest of the world.

Yes, because the iPhone is Japanese, that must be why it's the highest selling phone there! :P The problem is not that MS are American, it's that they already have two much more popular and better established brands over there with games they have been playing and growing up with for decades.

I'm not saying the Japanese aren't at all xenophobic, but blaming the Xbox's failure over there on that would be naive.
