For the gamecube=Yes.  Any of the titles that i wanted for that were acquired and played on the wii.

Obviously its backwords compatible, thats what i used it for in this case.  Just a couple of games that i wanted to play on the cube, not enough to keep the system.  I played them later on wii.  Has nothing to do with other systems ability to be backwords compatible.
