Thinking about this from a personal standpoint, I don't watch TV, I don't care much about online multiplayer beyond a game or two now and then, and I really don't care about talking to my console.
However, the new controller does look good, provided the directional pad is up to scratch. As I've said before, though, I've had a blast with such uncomfortable beasts as the Atari joystick and the NES slab, so you could tape buttons to a cat and I would play it.
It's about the games for me--and, I have to say, Microsoft is doing far better on that front than with the 360.
