I can see the touchpad having potential for UI navigation, or mouse/cursor implementation in games (e.g., strategy games), but it will ultimately be up to the developers to put it to good use. With that said, I really like the new analog sticks and triggers, as I disliked the convex ones of the previous generations (fingers would slip after holding toward a direction for a certain amount of time).
