Alot of reviews for it were saying it was the best Final Fantasy since 10, and actually feels like the Final Fantasies of old. Just that world map was enough to have me hooked ^^

I've heard of people who imported it and liked it, but I've also heard of people who have imported and didn't like it.  It's the same with games like Final Fantasy 12, 13, The After Years ,etc.  Final Fantasy 13 was praised by fans who imported it, and maybe because they spent close to $100 to do so, so they have far more of an investment in the game .  Fans will praise the crappiest games regardless how good they are.  Sorry to any Sonic fans in here, but how many garbage Sonic games have been released in a row only to have fans gush all over how amazing they are?

I'd like to play Type 0 because I still like the Final Fantasy series despite Square Enix killing it with each release, but I couldn't care less if I never played Type 0 if it meant I wouldn't play Yakuza 5.  Also being a Yakuza fan, I'd rather have a good game than what has a better chance of being a sub par big budget title that's overrated by a bunch of fans who imported it.

Not sure if you've even played a Yakuza game, so gameplay aside, the storyline to every Yakuza except for Dead Souls could be easily considered some of the best that's ever been in video games.  If by some chance the gameplay is good for Type 0, what do you expect from the story?  With how bad the storyline has been with every game Square Enix Japan has released in the past seven years, I know where I'd put my money at.  I'd put it between absolute garbage to extremely shitty.   Might not see something as good as Yakuza 4 with Yakuza 5, but probably something as good as atleast the third.

I dont know what to expect from the story :/ all I know is that the gameplay and world map invoked a worlds full of nostalgia upon me and reminded me of the Final Fantasies of old. It had a Final Fantasy 8 look to me which is one of my favorites but as for the story I guess your right about their track record not being very good. I think its more about the way they've been telling their stories, some of them have had good potential but are just told horribly.
